I am exhausted. These kids are totally kicking my butt in the sleep dept. Adelaide is waking up at night (some nights every 2 hrs
) and then likes to wake up at 4:30am and play until 6am. The real problem with this schedule is that Elena has been waking up at 5:30am every morning so this makes for a long day of keeping her entertained. I keep telling myself at some point (maybe a year fro now?) I will be able to sleep again and feel rested. I am wondering that perhaps these kids are training me to think that it is totally normal to be awake at 4:30 in the morning and I could use this time in the future for training? Not likely, but that is the only positive spin I have come up with for this lack of sleep.
We did have a great day of racing this morning. Scott ran a hilly 10 miler in King of Prussia and had a super race. Elena also did the kids fun run and they did a nice job of having the kids color their own bibs and then led them in some silly stretching. I didn't realize until the start line of the kid's run that every kid, regardless of age, was running 400 meters. That seemed like a long ways for a 3 yr old, but Elena ran it all and loved it. She was a real trooper and surprisingly ran the same pace the entire way.
Here are the runners after their races

that looks so fun! I didn't know they had a kids race. I'll have to bring Nick next year. Nice job to Scott. Is Adelaide crying when she wakes up? Maybe try letting her cry - it gets easier, she shouldn't be waking up that early, that's crazy!!!
4:30 is a great time to train!
Wow I hope that th longer days help a bit and more daylight is helpful with the sleep stuff. Elena looks like she wants to go run some more:)
Hang in there, i cant relate with no kids but i can sympathize that is for sure when my husband gets paged in the middle of the night :( not the same i know:(
ugg....that really is not much sleep. Jackson was the same as Adelaide. Not fun. That's why I just chose to co sleep. Then I at least fell back to sleep right away vs having to stay awake through the feedings. I wish I could find some races around here that incorporated kids. Oh but wait...I'd actually have to start running for that to happen, too :-).
hang in there Rebecca...it'll get easier. We finally had to split the boys up into different rooms again because Brayden thought it was funny to wake Ryan up, who in turn felt it necessary to come get me out of bed.
And yes, 4;30 is such a wonderful training time...lol.
